The fifth graders from Orchard Hills went to the Central Utah Veterans Home on Friday to celebrate an early Veteran's Day with the men and women who have bravely served our country. The students sang some patriotic songs, visited with the veterans, heard about some amazing experiences, and gave each veteran an American flag pin that they made. They then went and hung up thank you posters on the veteran's doors. It was an amazing experience that won't soon be forgotten.
During Red Ribbon Week, students had the opportunity to write about how their hobbies make them happy and help them to make good choices. A winner was picked from each grade level. Great job, kids! K - Juniper Broadbent, 1st - Josie Keddington, 2nd - Ava Beesley, 3rd - Jordyn Staheli, 4th - Reese Christensen, 5th - Liah Kitchen, 6th - Emory Mitchell
We had a room full of Cougar Pride winners at October's donut and chocolate milk party! Students can receive Cougar Paws from their teachers by being kind, helping, showing positive behavior, being a good friend, and through many other ways. When a child gets a Cougar Paw, they take it to the office and their name is added to the Cougar Pride Board. These kids were chosen from the board to come to the party. We are so proud of our cougars and the PAWSitive choices they make! We can't wait for our next party!
Mrs. Dalton received the Nebo PEAK Award! PEAK stands for Positive Energy and Kind employees. PEAK award winners are nominated by patrons and Nebo employees, and are recognized by the Superintendent and Nebo School Board of Education. We love you Dixie! Thank you so much for all the hard work you do at our school, and the care you give to our students!!
First grade learned about fire safety! Thank you to The Santaquin Fire Department and Corey Preston for teaching us all about the great things firefighters do to help and protect us from fires. The first graders loved seeing the ladder raise up and climbing through the fire truck!
