Orchard Hills has earned EPA’s Energy Star! Over the past three years an “Energy Incentive” has been offered to each school. The certification process isn’t easy. Air quality, lighting quality, and the overall Energy Use Index readings and calculations of each facility are taken into account. Data is then gathered and compared. We then receive a score based on the grading criteria.
For the 2018 season, Lagoon will be introducing the “Summer Fever Fundraiser”. We are hoping to seize the excitement for summer by giving students and families a jump starts on Summer Fun at Lagoon. The Summer Fever Fundraiser will offer an exclusive discount to Utah School Families, and the Education Foundations will reap the benefits. See the attached documents for more information.
Mrs. Tanner's class has been learning about measurement and about converting between metric and customary units of measure. "King Gallon" came and crowned students queens, princesses, and cats to teach them about quarts, pints and cups. "Metric McGonagall" came to teach them about transfiguring or converting from one metric unit to another.
The first graders at Orchard Hills had a presentation on animals and their habitats. Melissa Cavan brought some special animals to show. We had a great time!
Sixth grade students built terrariums earlier this week. They are learning about ecosystems how organisms interact with each other and their environment.
The fourth grade classes enjoyed listening to the Utah Symphony at Salem Hills High School today!
