Crazy Sock Day
As part of Red Ribbon Week, Tuesday was Crazy Sock Day. The theme was: We CAN kick drugs to the curb! The students also signed a drug free pledge on a red cup.

The Red Ribbon Week theme is: Orchard Hills Cougars CAN make good choices. We CAN be Drug Free! Today was "I CAN have a bright future!" It was college day and the students could wear their favorite school jersey or colors.
Stephen Olson from the Santaquin Fire Department came and talked to the first grade classes about fire safety. He also brought the fire truck!
The kindergartners at Orchard Hills spent a couple weeks learning Nursery Rhymes. Students in Miss Rowley’s classes were able to share their favorite Nursery Rhymes with the class. Some favorites were: Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill, 3 Little Kittens Who Lost Their Mittens, Jack be Nimble, Hickory Dickory Dock, Wee Willie Winkie, Little Miss Muffet, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, and many more. It was fun to watch them perform for their friends.
On Wednesday, October 15th, Orchard Hills had their annual Fall Dance Festival. It is fun tradition that everyone loves! The Dance Festival started off with Kaylee Mecham singing the National Anthem then each grade level performed a dance.

The PTA held an assembly to introduce the theme and to talk about the Reflections Contest with all the students.

The 6th graders at Orchard Hills enjoyed going on a walking field trip
to Santaquin Cemetery on Thursday, October 2nd. Three veterans - Ron
Peterson, Farrel Bott, Sterling Spencer - came and spoke to the 6th
graders about their experience in the military. The students also
walked through the cemetery and did some rubbings of headstones.
The PTA put on a Movie Night at the school. Tarzan was watched and it was a fun enjoyable night with family and friends watching at the school. Thank you to the PTA!
Students new to Orchard Hills Elementary School this year had a special lunch today.

Jennifer Ramos is an early childhood special education teacher at Orchard Hills Elementary in Nebo School District and was chosen as this week's Educator of the Week. Ramos shared the following with the Daily Herald:
