Cougar Pride Winners 2/27/2019

Submitted by riley.winward on

We had a room full of Cougar Pride winners at the Rootbeer Float Party today! Students can receive Cougar Paws from their teachers by being kind, helping, showing positive behavior, being a good friend, and through many other ways. When a child gets a Cougar Paw, they take it to the office and their name is added to the Cougar Pride Board. These kids were chosen from the board to come to the party. We are so proud of our cougars and the PAWSitive choices they make! We can't wait for our next party!

Robots in 6th Grade!

Submitted by riley.winward on
The 6th grade recently purchased nine Sphero Bolts due to the generous donations from a grandparent and the Nebo Education Foundation.  The students use an iPad to code the robot to do various things like move, change colors, speak, etc. In the coming weeks, students will be doing some STEM activities where they work collaboratively to complete a task.  The students had a blast coding the spheros!

Miss Winward's Class Makes Film Canister Rockets

Submitted by riley.winward on

Miss Winward's class launched film canister rockets using different "rocket feul" combinations! They learned that by mixing different reactants (things that go into chemical reactions), you can get different products (things that are created in chemical reactions). They tested water, vinegar, soda, Alka-Seltzer, and baking soda to try and find the most successful products for launching. Some reactants even caused the rockets to reach the ceiling! We have some rocket scientists on our hands!
