Third Grade Goes to Museum of Natural Curiosity
The third graders went on a field trip to the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point. It looks like they had a lot of fun playing and exploring.
The third graders went on a field trip to the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point. It looks like they had a lot of fun playing and exploring.
The kindergartners just finished their unit on science and during the unit the kindergartners each chose a topic of science they were interested in to present to their class. They all presented in different ways. Some of the topics shared were: volcanoes, plants, rain, tornadoes, animals, magnets, blubbers, sink and float, and many different science experiments. They had a lot of fun!
Orchard Hills Elementary 4th grade teachers learned how to water color as part of the GAINS (Growing Arts In Nebo Schools) program during January. Visual Art Integration, as well as enhanced Music, Dance, and Drama helps connect core concepts in Language Arts, Science, Math, and Social Studies. The fourth grade teachers linked shared reading with water coloring by painting various characters and scenes from selected stories. Through the medium of water color, students have the opportunity to feel like an artist while studying literature.
The kindergartners celebrated their 100th Day of Kindergarten! They brought their collections of 100 things to show their classes. Other activities they did were: building with 100 sticks, cubes, cups, painting, 100 exercises, and many more. What a fun day! They have learned so much already!
The first grade classes at Orchard Hills had a fun 100 day. They had many fun activities like building with 100 Lego blocks, making 100 hats, math activities, making 100 gumball pictures, writing activities, making posters showing 100 things, and many more. Everyone had a lot of fun!
Last week the kindergartners learned about bears. They learned a lot of facts about bears. They read books about bears and books with bears in them and talked about fact and fiction. They ended their week with Teddy Bear Day.
We had another round of Cougar Pride Winners. They loved eating their rootbeer floats! Way to go!
The fifth graders have recently completed their keyboarding course with Mr. Bartholomew. During this class, they worked to strengthen their typing skills. Awards were given out on Monday for those with outstanding speed and accuracy. Congrats to all of the fifth graders on improving themselves during this course!
First graders participated in their annual Sports Day. They had fun participating in many sports activities.
Everyone had fun day today celebrating Christmas with singing, parties, dressing up, visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, more.
