On Friday, December 21st, Orchard Hills had their annual Christmas sing-a-long.  Each grade level sings a song and then all the students sing other Christmas favorites together.  Some of the songs sung by grade levels were:  Jingle Bells, Two Front Teeth, Little Elf, and many others.  Some songs that everyone sang together are:  Holly Jolly Christmas, Must Be Santa, Frosty the Snowman, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and more.  Such a fun tradition and a fun way to start the Christmas break.  We wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Christmas Around the World

Orchard Hills second-grade students have been doing Christmas Around the World. Two times a week, a parent comes in and shares some traditions from a different country that they have either lived in or been to. They give a 20 minute presentation to the grade level and then we go back to our classes and write about what we have learned. The students have learned learning about countries such as Australia, Finland, Estonia, Scotland, Ecuador, and England. This week, Mr. Kim Barlow, former Orchard Hills principal, came to talk to the students about Holland.

The students in Mrs. Kathy Kelley's first-grade class worked hard to tie 6 fleece blankets to send to a Navajo Indian Reservation in Lukachukai, Arizona.  Mrs. Leslie Hindes and others will be taking these blankets with Gladeeh Begaye to the Reservation to benefit any who need a warm blanket at this chilly time of year.  Mrs. Hindes also takes other items such as toys, clothes, and shoes to the people at the Reservation.  We are thankful to Mrs.

We also visited the Santaquin Pharmacy, library and America's First Credit Union. We were able to perform our Thanksgiving program to the Senior Citizens and we had a blast! We look forward to this every November! The second-graders also perfomed their program for the school and again for their parents.
