Stephanie Wood is a truly outstanding educator and person.  She officially entered the education world 5 years ago when she graduated from BYU and became a full-time teacher but she has always been a lover of education.  She is currently in the process of getting her master’s degree at SUU.  Stephanie grew up in Bountiful, Utah.  She enjoys watching sports, reading, and playing games with her family.  She has a unique love for BYU football.  Stephanie is a wonderful example to her friends and coworkers as she works to go above and beyond anything that is expected of her.  Her problem-solving skills and her knowledge of technology make her a great asset to her school.  There have been days where Stephanie has been found selflessly spending every second of her prep time, during and after school, helping others with various things, whether it is fixing somebody’s computer, making copies for other teachers, tutoring students in need, or comforting and giving advice to a teacher who is having a hard time.  She lives for the success and happiness of others, especially of her students.  Stephanie cares deeply for each of her students and works tirelessly to help them to be successful.  She comes into school early and stays late every day to prepare for whatever is ahead.  Although she is an incredible educator and has a great amount of success in the classroom, she is constantly searching for new, innovative ideas that will help improve her teaching and her students’ learning experience.  She not only strives to teach her students the answers to the tests, but she cultivates a deeper learning and understanding of the concepts. When it comes to teaching, all of her thoughts and actions are directly connected to the educational, social and emotional needs of her students.  It is no coincidence that her classroom is a place where her students feel safe, valued and successful.   The environment she creates is extremely positive and uplifting. Her students love and respect her as their teacher and her coworkers appreciate and value her as their fellow-educator and friend.  Stephanie is truly deserving of the Crystal Apple Award.
