Our very own Robin Wheatley was the recipient of the Nebo Education Foundation Grant.  

One of the goals of the foundation is to fund worthwhile projects in the district that provide resources to enrich student learning. 

Robin Wheatley, instructional coach at Orchard Hills Elementary, said, “Thank you, thank you, thank you! This grant will allow for the purchase of decodable books that will be used by kindergarten through second or third grade students.  Reading decodable books can help students feel like they are readers even if they only know a few letters.  What a wonderful way to build reading confidence! When teachers use decodable texts in small group reading instruction, they give students the chance to apply the phonics skills they have already been taught.  Combining skills learned with well-designed decodable texts help students become successful readers.   Thank you Nebo Education Foundation for always supporting our readers!”
