Submitted by riley.winward on

Our school Fun Run/Walk/Jog Fundraiser is next Friday, September 27! We can't wait to see if we made our goal of earning $6,000 for our school! If you haven't already done so, please consider donating or asking friends and family if they are willing to donate. If each child raises just $10, we will reach our goal! Thank you so much for your participation! Below is information from a previous post that includes more details.

Assembly on Having a Growth Mindset and Being Kind

Submitted by riley.winward on

Ivy Ranch, a program that helps empower and encourage youth, came to Orchard Hills today and talked with our students about having a growth mindset and never giving up. They also talked with us about being kind to others, and gave us some tools to use if we ever encounter someone not being nice. At the end of the assembly, Mr. Murray gave Owen Andreason an award for being a student who consistently demonstrates a growth mindset, and who is kind to those around him. Way to go, Owen, and thanks to Ivy Ranch for coming!

September 11th in 5th Grade

Submitted by riley.winward on

On Wednesday, fifth graders learned about and reflected on the events that occured on September 11th and the days that followed. They participated in class discussions, wrote about their thoughts, and made flag pins to help them remember the things they will learn about in American history this year, and to appreciate those who sacrificed on 9/11, 18 years ago.

Fundraiser Kickoff!

Submitted by riley.winward on

On Thursday, we had a super fun assembly to help kickoff our school fundraiser! Teachers performed skits of what to do (and what not to do) when gathering donations for our school, and Mrs. Collins, a member of our PTA, gave us information about the fundraiser.
