Thanksgiving Program
The second grade classes did a Thanksgiving Program for the school and for their parents. They sang songs about turkeys, being thankful, and getting together with family and friends. Each class also recited a poem.
Fifth Grade Field Trip
Fifth grade students at Orchard Hills went on a field trip to see the play Miss Nelson Is Missing. After the play they had a great time skating!
Discovery Museum Assembly
The fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students had an assembly put on by Discovery Museum in SLC. The students were able to participate in several science experiments and also learn more about the moon.
Wax Mueum
Our sixth graders created their very own Wax Museum. Each student researched somebody who had a positive influence on the world. They wrote bio-riddles and created boards to share with both the school and parents.
Orchard Hills Cougars CAN be Healthy
The Red Ribbon theme for Wednesday was: Orchard Hills Cougars CAN be Healthy! The students were able to wear their favorite workout/exercise/sports clothes. During lunch there was and obstacle course set up and some athletes from Payson High School came and played with the students.
Crazy Sock Day
As part of Red Ribbon Week, Tuesday was Crazy Sock Day. The theme was: We CAN kick drugs to the curb! The students also signed a drug free pledge on a red cup.
Red Ribbon Week
The Red Ribbon Week theme is: Orchard Hills Cougars CAN make good choices. We CAN be Drug Free! Today was "I CAN have a bright future!" It was college day and the students could wear their favorite school jersey or colors.
Fire Safety
Stephen Olson from the Santaquin Fire Department came and talked to the first grade classes about fire safety. He also brought the fire truck!
Nursery Rhymes
The kindergartners at Orchard Hills spent a couple weeks learning Nursery Rhymes. Students in Miss Rowley’s classes were able to share their favorite Nursery Rhymes with the class. Some favorites were: Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill, 3 Little Kittens Who Lost Their Mittens, Jack be Nimble, Hickory Dickory Dock, Wee Willie Winkie, Little Miss Muffet, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, and many more. It was fun to watch them perform for their friends.
