To honor Veterans on Veteran's Day each class was given a balloon and a paper and each class wrote down veterans they know on the paper and then each class released a balloon to honor those veterans.  

Fall Dance Festival 2013

In October we had the annual Fall Dance Festival.  The program began with a flag ceremony and with Emme McDowel singing the National Anthem

Discovery Gateway came and did a Reaction Time Assembly for our fifth graders.  The students learned about matter, physical changes, and chemical changes.  They observed several experiments as well as performed some as well.  Not only was this a great learning experience, but the students had a lot of fun!

This is Zander Oryall.  He won a bike through the school lunch coloring contest "My favorite place in the United States".  He worked with his teacher and she helped him use  stencils to make a picture of Elk hunting in the mountains which is indeed Zanders favorite place in the whole world.  He just got back from hunting with his family this year.

Students new to Orchard Hills this year got to go to a special luncheon with Mr. Murray and Mrs. Burningham.  Welcome to Orchard Hills!!

The second grade studenta at Orchard Hills enjoyed a hayride to the pumpin patch to pick out a pumpkin for their class!

The second grade started off with a bang this year! Each class tie-dyed shirts and participated in the 2nd Grade Olympics. We started off with an Opening Ceremony, did events all throughout the week and ended it with a Closing Ceremony. The kids had fun and learned the importance of hard work, good sportsmanship and setting goals.

Our fifth-grade graduated from the DARE program in May.  They had a great time with Officer Johnson learning about making good choices and staying away from drugs!

Top DARE Essay Winners:

Orchard Hills fifth-graders performed at the Hope of America program in Provo on April 18, 2013.  They also performed for the school on May 22nd.  They sang several patriotic songs, learned a lot about our country, and had a great time!
