Follow-up Parent Information (April 16, 2020)

April 15, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians:

As you may have heard, Governor Herbert and State Superintendent Sydnee Dickson have extended the “soft school closure” until the end of the school year.  Although we are disappointed that we will not be able to work with students in our usual manner, we understand why the decision was made and fully support them.  That being said, we now will need to address a variety of very unique situations.

Mrs. Olson's Class

Some classes from Orchard Hills have been meeting over Zoom while we have been away from school! Classes have been able to play games, solve riddles, have show and tell, and just visit with each other over video conference. It has been so fun to have classmates and teachers together, and to enjoy each other's company when we can't be together in person.

Scroll through to see "class photos" of Mrs. Olson's, Mr. Grosdidier's, Miss Wood's, Mrs. Collier's, Mr. Craig's (4th), Mrs. Tanner's, Mrs. Robins', and Miss Winward's classes!

Wednesday Pick-Up Updates!

Hello parents! We have a small change of plans for tomorrow. Parents are now being instructed to come up to your child's classroom outside window (or outside door, if they have one), and student pick-up materials will be passed through! If your child is in Mrs. Robins' class, please come to the window of the room by Mr. Craigs' (3rd grade) classroom. If you child is in Mrs. Jenkins' class, please come to the window of the music room at the front of the school (to the right of the front doors, when you are facing them).

Orchard Hills Pick-Up Times for Wednesday, 3/18!

On Wednesday, 3/18/2020, the school will be open for students and parents to come get Chromebooks, student work, books, cubby contents, and anything else they might need in order to prepare for their at-home learning, which begins on the same day. For everyone’s safety, we are trying to stagger the amount of people in the building at one time, so please only come at your assigned time. Assignments are based on last name. If you are unable to come to the school at your assigned time, please contact your child’s teacher to make other arrangements. Thanks, everyone!
