We are excited to have students back in school! The district has created a FAQ document with many answers to questions you may have. Please refer to the pictures included with this post. Here is information specific to Orchard Hills. Please call the school if you have additional questions.

How to pay a school donation:

After registering your child(ren), return to the main screen on the parent portal. On the left side, click on the FEE link then add the donations to your cart. We are asking for $25 per student. Thanks for the much needed donation!

School Start and End Time Change:

Orchard Hills has new start and end times this year. We will begin school at 9:15 and end at 2:45 on Mondays (early out day) and 3:30 on Tuesday-Friday.

Drinking fountains:

Drinking fountains will not be available for use. Students may bring a water bottle that can be refilled at the school.

Wearing masks or shields:

Please provide a mask or shield for your student. Students will be allowed to take masks/shields off during lunch, recess outside and P.E. In all other areas, including entering and exiting the school building, a mask/shield is required to be worn. If a student arrives at school without a mask/shield, he/she will be given a disposable mask to use for the day.

Hand washing and santizing:

All students will be required to wash their hands prior to lunch and when they come back to the classroom after lunch. Classrooms will have soap and/or santizer available for santizing throughout the day.

Specialty classes-art, PE, library, computer:

Students will be going to specialty classes and the classroom will be disinfected between classes.

Lunch procedures:

Lunch will be held with a few adjustments. Benches will be marked with a sticker so students can be seated at a safe distance. Students will sit as a grade level and the area will be disinfected between grades.

Drop off and Pick up:

We are asking that students arrive at school between 9:00-9:15 (our new start time). If your child eats breakfast at school, the doors will be open for them at 8:45. They will be asked to go directly to the lunchroom to eat breakfast. Pick up will be the same as in the past.

Playgrounds:

The playground equipment will be sanitized daily.

Classrooms:

Students will have assigned seating at tables or desks and on rug areas. Classrooms will be cleaned and disinfected at least once daily. Masks are required in class unless social distancing can happen.

Thank you for your support and patience as we work to make this school year as normal as possible while also following all district and state requirements to keep students, faculty and staff safe. We are excited to see your children and can't wait to have them back in school!
